How to identify sugar daddy and sugar baby scams.
The clearest warning is an advance request: a fee, loan, deposit, gift card, digital currency, travel ticket or paid “verification.” A fake transfer receipt may also be used to persuade you to return part of money that never arrived.
Patterns that should end the conversation
- Extraordinary promises before a call or meeting.
- An emergency only your money can solve.
- Pressure to act within minutes and keep the request secret.
- A request for a PIN, password, text-message code or account access.
- Repeated refusal of video while demanding trust.
Do not send another payment to recover a promise. If financial information was exposed, save the evidence and contact your bank through its official channels.
Protect identity, location and private images.
A profile needs personality, not a dossier. Leave out surnames, home address, employer, school, vehicle plates, documents, exact schedule and photographs already tagged with your location elsewhere.
Before posting an image, inspect reflections, badges, windows, license plates and metadata. Do not send intimate content to a new contact. A screenshot can survive even when a message appears temporary.

Do not send money and do not extend the negotiation. Save screenshots, usernames, links, phone numbers, email addresses and payment details. Then block the contact and ask for help. Call 911 when danger is immediate.
